| Custom Processing and Blending The addition of our new roving machine allows us to process orders quickly “while we are still excited by the process.” Our services include washing, carding, processing and blending. You may choose to process your own fleeces alone or create custom blends by combining them with our alpaca, mohair, angora, or many varieties of sheep wool. |
| Fiber Processing Skirting Fees: All fleeces must be skirted generously with tags and second cuts removed. Fleeces must be relatively free of large quantities of debris. Fleeces sent with any type of pests, will not be accepted and will be returned to you at your expense. We can skirt you fleeces for a one time $6.00 fee. Washing Fleeces: Washed fleeces brought to us must be free of any tacky or waxy substances. We can wash your fleeces for a fee of : $6 per pound ( raw weight) $6.50 per pound for fine wools (Merino, Ramboulitte, Columbia, Corriedale, and mohair) Carding Fees: Includes picking and blending. Fees are based on finished weight. $5.00/pound for medium weight wools and blends up to 50%. $6.00/pound for all fine wools and 51%-100% exotic fibers. We welcome small amounts of wool for processing and have no minimum amount required. We also offer you the unique opportunity to blend your fibers with our many, native Maine grown fibers such as mohair, alpaca and several breeds of sheep we produce here on our farm.
